Birmingham Intl Comics Show write up!

I had an absolute blast at the show! Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by my table ^____^ It was a really good turnout, I was kept busy throughout Saturday and Sunday, expect to see me back again next year for sure ^_^

So, some shout-outs and pimpery of loot!

Origins, An IndieManga anthology - brand new manga circle, longtime friends of Sweatdrop. Congratulations for a great debut, a fab comic with the best blurb ever XD

Amaranth, by Willie Hewes - Wai, collected volume!!! A lovely dark fairytale, finally available in a biiiiig book = love

Mephistos, by naniiebim - a wonderful surprise for me! Lou came by my table and we had a lovely chat and I promptly bought her comic. This comic has a lovely loose style and the story is very funny. You might recognise her work from a NEO artist feature a few months back! Buy this comic, you won't regret it.

The Doppleganger Chronicles, The First Escape, by G P Taylor - Yishan Li brought this to my attention (Hi babe!) as she did the colouring for it. This is one helluva gorgeous hardcover storybook. Other famous (infamous) accomplices on this book include Daniel Boultwood (artist of Hope Falls) and Tony Lee (writer of MANY MANY things). Check it out if you can, and here are links to people's sites:

Love the Way You Love by Marc Ellerby & Jamie Rich - Funnily enough, I mistook Marc Ellerby for Dan Boultwood and was convinced he was a drunken bastard. I was mistaken! Poor Marc, I wonder how many crimes have been perpetrated in his guise... He very kindly drew penguins on the cover of my copy. A cute, quirky romance/life issue/music groupie comic! Girls, seriously, give this a go.

Phonogram (written by Kieron Gillen) and Suburban Glamour both drawn by Jamie McKelvie - I never got round to buying this guy's comics until now. Even though I've sat in a hotel room with him while he took a shower. He was a little grumpy on Sunday, but there's no denying his comics ooze style and class. Nice ones.

Bahala Na! 07 and 08 by David Goodman - I still remember picking up a tiny little comic about two cats and a potato back in 2001 called Viva Batatas. Fond memories! As for my new loot, these magazines have little, HILARIOUS short comics throughout them. Great to see him still going strong, and just as funny as always.

So, a few shout outs to finish, people I met and some who I didn't have time to buy products from (seriously! I was busy T_T Emma kept wandering around and Pud kept playing videogames, someone had to be serious about the table XD):

The lovely girls from Inspired Comics - you guys were great! I hope you enjoyed my little library, it's great to be able to read comics in full without pressure, ne? :3 But then you went and bought EVERYTHING!! Thank you sooooo much.
